Colleen Coco Collins [she/they] is an interdisciplinary artist of Irish, French, and Odawa descent, working in songwriting, performance, poetry and visual arts. Her writing/music/art practice centers on temporality, presumptions of sentience, subversion, rhythm, gesture, geographies, biophonies, frequencies, the ouroboric, the peripatetic, love and the polyglottic. She lives littorally in rural Port Greville, Mi’kma’ki/Nova Scotia amidst crows, coyotes, grackles, bees, humpback, lichen and fox.
Coco’s book of poems Sorry About The Fire was published by Biblioasis press in 2024. Formerly a member of Construction & Destruction, her debut solo album drops this year. She plays drums for Julie Doiron, bass for Status/Non-Status, multi-instruments for Penny and The Pits, & Carson McHone, & others.. Coco has collaborated with visual artists Sheilah and Dani ReStack, Amanda Fauteux & Miranda Bellamy, Claire Greenshaw, Rita McKeogh & others..
