DEBBY FRIDAY’S debut long-player, GOOD LUCK arrives on Sub Pop & Arts & Crafts (in Canada) this spring. DEBBY recently re-located from Vancouver, to Toronto and for her debut she worked with a producer for the 1st time, Juno and Polaris Prize nominated composer, Graham Walsh. The jump up in production value adds a sort of heft and pull to the genre- flexibility on parade here: think of it a little like Sevdaliza meets Death Grips. Few do it like DEBBY, though. Lucid, acid housey, high-BPM track “I GOT IT” - accompanied by Chris Vargas of Pelada and Uñas - has her unprecedentedly cocksure and vainglorious. She’s still drawn to certain keys and moods (the brooding D and F minor, are all over this album) to suggest melancholia, darkness. However, lead single, “SO HARD TO TELL,” sees FRIDAY shed all of her signature industrial tropes, to deliver a completely out of pocket, and totally assured, falsetto pop song. This sun-bright track is a crucial signifier in FRIDAY’S expansion.

Tour de force rapper, DJ, producer and visual/conceptual artist Myst Milano can't be stopped. Myst has played shows with Lizzo, Thundercat, Chino Amobi, Ashanti and Ja Rule, LSDXOXO, and many more, amassing nearly 200 shows to date since the beginning of their career in 2016. Recognized locally not only for their performance prowess but also for digital activism with online party platform Club Quarantine in Summer 2020, Myst is as versatile as they are steadfast and unwavering, in both their beliefs and their creative output. Production-wise, Myst tends to veer towards the primitive and steady, however changeable and vast their beat catalogue may be; as far as writing goes, Myst effortlessly bounces from the playful and giddy, to the hopeful and serene, to the deep and dangerous and back again, never skipping a beat. The only guarantee with Myst Milano's music is this: you'll never know what to expect.

Created with the intention of celebrating their Latin roots and recontextualizing the sounds they grew up listening to, CUERPOS combines elements from Latin and Caribbean music–cumbia, dub, reggae–with club-ready electronic beats and production. CUERPOS lies at the intersection of their respective tastes and interests, and encapsulates the raw, chaotic energy of punk, balanced with the calculated precision of dance music, and the infectious grooves of Latin sounds. The result is a psychedelic dancefloor experience that is best enjoyed during their animated live sets. 

\garbagefile is St. John's premiere freaky drag clown! They are a shapeshifter, a file directory, a compendium of beasts. Known for their outlandish costumes, high concept performances, and extravagant tentacles, Backslash promises to thrill, delight, and (sexually) confuse you. They are a frequent host and performer for organizations including Lawnya Vawnya, the Festival of New Dance, St. John's International Circusfest, and The Wonderbolt Circus. Backslash is the resident cephalopod of St. John's stickiest drag collective, the Phlegm Fatales, infamous for their theatrical immersive drag shows and the trail of ooze they leave everywhere they travel.
