UZU أوزو is a Montreal-based band with members from Algeria, Colombia and Quebec. The four-piece band mixes elements of 80’s post-punk with death rock and dark, mid-tempo punk. The dramatic lyrics, sung in Arabic, are poetic and personal, yet they contain profound political messages revolving around subjects like exile, colonization, migrant struggles.
