Andrina Cockerham is a musician, writer, and emerging ethnomusicologist based in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. Originally from Ontario, she holds a Bachelor of Music in Clarinet Performance from Queen’s University and is currently completing a Master’s in Ethnomusicology at Memorial University. Her work moves between research and creative practice, drawing on experience with cultural organizations and community-based projects. Her writing explores the intersections of sound, story, and community, with a focus on how music carries memory, identity, and belonging. Blending ethnography with lyrical narrative, her work is shaped by interviews, archives, and lived experience. As a writer, Andrina is interested in attentive, relational work. Work that invites listening closely to voices, places, and the stories music holds.
