Bleu deliver a subdued, melancholic sounds that pairs well with the distant coast of Newfoundland they are native to. Their sound is a result of the solo recording process of front person Marcus McLaughlin. While recording remains a solo endeavor, the 4-piece live band takes on a life of its own, consisting of Ryan Pretty, Adam Ravalia, and Zakk Sullivan. With writing efforts handled by McLaughlin, the band is left with ample time to hone and perfect their live show, which quickly becomes apparent in seeing them perform. Bleu’s live show turns the dreamy, introspective pop recordings into large yet blissful post-rock anthems.
